UN Plus (the United Nations System HIV+ Staff Group) welcomes and congratulates the UN Secretary-General’s second term appointment.
BAN Ki-moon has been extremely supportive of UN Plus, as well as of UN Cares, and we appreciate his strong commitment to the issues of HIV and AIDS within the UN System.
During past meetings with UN Plus, he has indicated his personal interest by listening to our stories and expressing his professional determination to resolve issues that are of concern to staff living with HIV.
Furthermore, in the most recent meeting with us on June 8, 2011, the Secretary-General strongly encouraged us to continue to be resilient and confident as UN saff and assured us that he was always there to support us. We look forward to working with him for the next five years.
